Will Charles be there?
Charles will not be physically present at Market Lab. The experience will be led by Payne's Education Investment Instructors, applying the investing principles and methodology taught through Payne's Education.
Is this day trading?
No, this is not day trading. You will be learning how to place shorter-term trades with holding periods of a few days to roughly two months. Typically you'll enter trades live during market hours. Trade management is based on closing prices. These strategies don't require that you're in front of the computer all day.
Will I be trading with real money?
All trades the Instructors help you with must be executed in a paper trading account. They are not permitted to review live trades as part of the course.
Will the Instructors review my current holdings or portfolio?
Our Instructors are not able to review or give advice on any "real money" trades or positions you are in. We do not give any specific investing, legal, tax, or other professional advice.
Do I need to use the thinkorswim platform?
The Instructors will be using Charles Schwab's thinkorswimTM platform for education and demonstration purposes. Students may use any paper trading platform they would like.
Will the Market Lab sessions be recorded?
The Market Lab sessions will not be recorded. You'll receive a workbook to help with your notes, trading plans, and real-time feedback on decisions as you're making them.
Can I bring my spouse or guest?
Guests are welcome at the Wednesday Welcome Reception and Thursday evening's dinner, hosted by Payne's Education. Anyone attending the Market Lab sessions needs their own paid seat.
Do I need to prepare?
To ensure you get the most out of this event, we've created the Payne's Market Lab course. It provides information about the event, technology to bring, and some content to be familiar with before you arrive. This is not required, but it will help you be better prepared and hit the ground running.

Yes. Full participation during market hours is required both days. The NYSE opens at 7:30 AM MDT and closes at 2:00 PM MDT. Sessions run from 7:30 AM through 4:00 PM Thursday and Friday. Market Lab is not a passive experience, so plan to be fully present both days.
Will I be trading with real money?
No. All trades at Market Lab are paper trades executed through practice accounts only. No real money, no real positions. thinkorswimTM paper money is the preferred platform, and any paper trading platform is acceptable. The focus is entirely on building decision-making skill, discipline, and execution consistency.
Will sessions be recorded?
No. Sessions will not be recorded. The room works because everyone in it is fully present and focused.
Is there any support after the event?
Yes. Every attendee receives access to two exclusive post-event group Q and A sessions, held two weeks apart, for attendees only. These are not open webinars. They are reserved exclusively for Market Lab participants.
